"I contacted Dr. Chiaramonte because of my intense frustration with my current medical treatment for an aortic aneurysm, and with the medical profession in general. In my opinion, the current program of patient care, medical diagnosis, and medical treatment in the US is completely and utterly broken, and is desperately in need of overhaul. Please note that I am a 30-year mechanical engineer by profession, and not given to trivial or whimsical positions. I have researched and analyzed this situation very carefully prior to forming the opinion stated in this testimonial.

For instance, my cardiologist is always in a rush to get through each appointment, often granting me less than 5 minutes to discuss what is a potentially life-threatening medical issue. I have many relevant questions regarding my condition, diagnosis, and treatment which deserve careful and deliberate consideration, but the cardiologist never has the time to give me the meticulous attention I deserve. I possess pertinent medical records relative to my heart problem dating back over 10 years, however none of these records has been systematically and carefully reviewed by my cardiologist in order to perform trend analysis of data, identify correlations between medical issues, isolate contributing factors to the problem, or identify systemic issues that may be causing the aneurysm, such as a connective tissue disorder. The dismissive manner in which my case has been handled by the medical profession is appalling. I have attempted to obtain second and third opinions from other heart specialists, but have obtained the same dismissive attitude.
